Tim Fry
Latin Teacher.
Mr. Fry sensed God’s call to enter the ordained ministry at a young age. He majored in English Literature at Illinois State University, where he also studied Greek and Latin. He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1992 and pastored two churches in Illinois. He sensed a call to a different type of ministry and followed God’s lead into a twenty-year career as a correctional chaplain. Mr. Fry finds joy in learning the Greek, Latin, and English languages because the Gospel of John tells us the Word was made flesh. God chose to communicate with us through language, and as we study it we gain a glimpse into the mystery of the incarnation. This study finds redemptive fulfillment as we use our language skills to serve God. Mr. Fry views Math as a language of numbers instead of words. Mr. Fry enjoyed various teaching opportunities as a pastor and chaplain, but his most rewarding one was helping Faith, his wife, home-school their three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, writing, reading, and spoiling the family cats.
