Rachael Young
Lower School Art Teacher.
Rachael is a second generation homeschooler who became enamored with Charlotte Mason’s ideas as a teenager and dutifully made her siblings go outside and nature journal. She got her BFA in Design at MSU and has taught art at several co-ops during her homeschooling journey. She and her husband of 24 years, Jeremy, have two grown children, a ten year old, and a dog named Bennet. In her free time she reads, knits, crochets, collects too much yarn, draws, and paints. She loves teaching children to be fearless in their creativity, to embrace imperfection, to be confident that with practice, they can get better at what they want to do. She believes that learning should be joyful and is good for its own sake, that God gave us curious minds and a world full of beauty for us to delight in.
